As an experienced trial lawyer, Mr. Kagan represents individuals and businesses in state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and in arbitration. He has successfully litigated a wide variety cases before judges and juries arising out of business, employment, and real estate disputes, as well as fiduciary issues arising out of trusts and estates.
Mr. Kagan’s practice also involves counseling companies and individuals in employment and business matters. He has extensive experience in the drafting and negotiation of employment agreements and severance agreements for executives and employees. Mr. Kagan drafts policies and provides counsel regarding restrictive covenants such as non-competition, non-solicitation, and non-disclosure of confidential information and trade secrets. On business matters, he consults on business formation and the drafting and negotiation of operating agreements and/or stockholder agreements protecting owners and their partners.
Mr. Kagan is rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized as a Top 100 Maryland Super Lawyer. He is the past President of the Anne Arundel County Bar Association and the former Chair of the Litigation Section of the Maryland State Bar Association.
