Travis Martz focuses his practice primarily on business transactions and compliance with automotive law, real estate transactions serving both commercial and residential clients throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia, and representation of business trade associations before state and local governments.

Mr. Martz began his career in Annapolis in 2001 as a registered lobbyist for the Maryland Automobile Dealers Association before the Maryland General Assembly.  Mr. Martz continues to serve as general counsel to that trade group.  Mr. Martz’s automotive law expertise has developed over nearly two decades, representing new and used automobile and motorcycle dealers in Maryland.

In 2008, Mr. Martz founded Martz Legal to serve as general counsel to a number of small businesses lacking an in-house legal team. The scope of legal services provided by Martz Legal includes business formation/licensing, board of director counsel, buy/sell agreements, vendor contract negotiation, employment agreements, consumer disputes, federal/state regulation compliance, manufacturer-dealer sales and service agreements, and executive compensation negotiation among other essential business law issues.

To further benefit his business clients, Mr. Martz established a real estate settlement company called Title Nation in 2014.  Title Nation is the only property settlement company affiliated with Kagan Stern.  Title Nation is licensed to provide residential/commercial title transfer and refinance transactions for commercial and residential clients.  Mr. Martz’s real estate practice also services commercial and residential clients with licensed brokerage, residential/commercial lease review, and HOA counsel among other essential real estate services.

Mr. Martz joined Kagan Stern as “Of Counsel” in 2017 to support the dynamic business litigation team already in place and firmly place Kagan Stern as a premier business and real estate firm in Anne Arundel County.

Mr. Martz and his wife Erin are residents of Annapolis.  Despite keeping busy with three boys, Mr. Martz and Erin are actively engaged in numerous social and charitable organizations to support the greater Annapolis community.
